Will my stroller fit in my trunk?
Stroller trunk fit is how much of a car's cargo space a folded stroller takes up. It depends on the stroller's folded size and the trunk's volume and shape. Pick your car and a stroller below to see the share of your trunk it fills, then check the longest folded side against your trunk's depth.
How to read the result
The percentage is the stroller's folded volume divided by the car's published cargo volume. It is our rule of thumb, not a measurement of your trunk:
- Under 25%: plenty of room left for groceries or a suitcase.
- 25 to 40%: fits, with room for a bag or two beside it.
- 40 to 60%: fits, but it is most of the trunk.
- Over 60%: do not count on it. Shape will decide, so measure first.
Volume is not shape. A long umbrella fold can fill a little of the volume and still be too long for a sedan floor, which is why the tool flags any stroller whose longest folded side is over 36 inches.

Folded sizes are the manufacturer's published dimensions, so they can differ from the folded sizes our testers measured in the guides. * No maker figure was published, so we use the figure from our guide. Odyssey with the third row up. Trunk volumes are each maker's published cargo figure for the 2025 or 2026 model year; trims vary.
How to measure your trunk in two minutes
- Depth: from the inside of the trunk lip to the back of the rear seats, along the floor.
- Width: between the wheel arches, the narrowest point.
- Height: from the floor to the top of the opening, or to the parcel shelf in a sedan.
- Compare each with the stroller's folded length, width and height, longest against longest.
Then take the stroller's folded dimensions from our full-size stroller guideor our travel stroller guide, where nearly every stroller lists its folded size beside its scores.
Stroller and trunk questions
Will a full-size stroller fit in a sedan trunk?
Usually, but it can take most of the space. A full-size stroller folds to roughly 7,400 to 17,000 cubic inches, which is a quarter to three-quarters of a 13 to 17 cubic foot sedan trunk. Shape matters as much as volume, so check the longest folded side against your trunk's depth.
What is the smallest folding stroller?
Of the 20 strollers in our guides, the gb Pockit+ All City folds smallest, at about 1,891 cubic inches.
How do I measure my trunk for a stroller?
Measure the floor depth from the lip to the seatbacks, the width between the wheel arches, and the height of the opening. Compare those with the stroller's folded length, width and height. The wheel-arch width is the measurement most people miss.
Is cargo volume the same as trunk space?
It is the manufacturer's measure of it, in cubic feet, usually to the SAE J1100 standard. It counts every corner, including space no stroller can use, so treat it as a ceiling rather than a promise.
